_Why am I running for office as a Libertarian?

My name is Max Koch III and I am running for the office of state representative for district 96 as a libertarian. I believe you will find the libertarian party represents a set of values that you can respect. Our core principles of personal liberty, balanced with person responsibility, create an atmosphere sorely missing from today's partisan political climate.

Republicans and Democrats go to Austin to create more laws which amount to grandiose platitudes that either enrich donors and friends or stifle competition. Our local, county, and state governments are burdened with laws that are ultimately wastes of our collective tax dollars. Laws and regulations are produced that serve in many instances to justify budgets for what manifests itself to society as bureaucratic blight.  The end result is often a cumulative piling on of regulations and taxes that crush small business and ultimately sour the entrepreneurial spirit that makes our state strong.

_What is a Libertarian?

_The Libertarian philosophy is simple. Our country was founded on personal freedoms

Sometimes Republicans sound libertarian when they talk about cutting taxes and spending. Sometimes Democrats sound libertarian when they talk about civil liberties like free speech. Libertarians support freedom on every issue.

Although Republicans and Democrats often talk about freedom, they usually violate our freedoms and give us more rules and taxation instead.

I will support liberty on every issue, but below are three of my priorities:

Cut taxes and spending
End the War on Drugs
Regulatory relief for small businesses

_Why vote Libertarian?

__Win or lose, every vote for a Libertarian sends a clear message for liberty. Don't waste your vote encouraging the Republicans and Democrats who keep making our lives worse. Don't let them scare you into voting for more government. Vote Libertarian.

We are America's third-largest political party. Many Libertarians serve in elected office throughout the U.S. We have affiliates in all 50 states. We run hundreds of candidates for all political offices from President down to U.S. Congress and city councils.

I hope you will help me change Texas for the better. I hope you will vote for me, Max W. Koch III, for State Representative.

Thank you,
Max W. Koch III
